WEST BERLIN, NJ – Banks Industrial Group (BIG), a family-first industrial maintenance company, announces that Christopher Banks was promoted to President of Banks Industrial Group and Repair Technology effective January 1, 2021.
Christopher joined BIG in May of 2016 after serving twenty years as an aviator in the United States Navy and retiring with the rank of Commander. He graduated with distinction from both the U.S. Naval Academy, with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, and the Naval Postgraduate School, with an Executive Master’s degree of Business Administration. Highlights of his Naval career include multiple deployments to the middle east and tours of duty at the Pentagon, serving as a liaison officer with the United States Senate and a project manager in the Philippines.
In his role as business manager at BIG, Christopher led accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, information technology, and supply chain operations. He is known for his adept financial management, continuous process improvement, and genuine commitment to gratitude and positivity.
The company’s Technical Manager, Mark Borsky, said of Christopher’s promotion, “He spends an incredible amount of time looking at the things we do and identifies how we can improve. His many years of leadership experience make him the right person to guide the business as we grow.”
“I never thought that I would be blessed with a team as good as the ones I was blessed with in the Navy,” remarked Christopher about his promotion. “We have such dedicated and hard-working employees at BIG. To think how much we have grown as a professional organization; it is something that makes me proud every single day, and I am really looking forward to the future.”
Today’s announcement marks the successful completion of Christopher’s transition to the role previously held by his father and the founder of BIG, Gary Banks. Gary started BIG in 2003 out of a spare bedroom of his home being the only employee. Today BIG has 34 employees, eight of which were added in 2020 despite the pandemic, and has experienced continuous growth since inception. Gary will remain with BIG as Chairman. He and Christopher will continue to “Think BIG,” as they set the strategic direction of the company.
