June 25, 2015—The BIG Educational Series 2015 event was held at Xfinity Live! Philadelphia despite the previous day’s damaging thunderstorms, straight line winds and resultant power outages.

Guests arrived early to enjoy a continental breakfast and time to network while they browsed the display booths.

Mark Borsky from Repair Technology kicked things off with an in-depth look at understanding and decoding protective coating specification sheets.

Next up, Jack Wallace from Municipal Maintenance Company shared his insights on pump efficiency and how his organization has, in some cases, improved pump efficiency by well over 20%.

Keith Stoltzfus from Repair Technology provided an easy to understand overview of composite repair options and applications.

Keynote speaker Wayne Geyer from the Steel Tank Institute / Steel Plate Fabricators Association explained the developing problems associated with ultra low sulfur diesel fuel corrosion and current information regarding possible causes and solutions for these issues.

Dan Matz from ErectaStep wrapped up the series with a discussion of industrial facility fall protection. Sample ErectaStep crossover stairs and YellowGate safety gates were on display for attendees to examine.

Lunch was served at noon, and attendees enjoyed their choice of delicious Victory Hall hamburgers, vegiburgers, hotdogs or grilled chicken breasts along with tempting sides of homemade BBQ potato chips and macaroni salad.

Our goal with these events is to share knowledge and advance best practices for repairing, protecting and improving your infrastructure. If you missed out, we sincerely hope that you can join us in June 2016.
